Frequently Asked Questions
-
How does therapy work?
To put it brief - you talk and I listen. I am here to help guide, assess, validate, construct, praise, question, and process with you. I help you facilitate the change you desire. I am not here to fix you, solve your problems, or tell you what to do. This is 100% about you and what you want. You don’t ever have to talk about things you don’t want to, complete homework you don’t have time for, or try to appease me. Therapy works by the amount of time and effort you put into sessions. It can be quite hard, and also very rewarding.

Who do you see?
I see individuals who are in young - mid adulthood, 20’s-40’s. My clients often struggle with the following: anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, substance use and abuse, boundaries, self esteem, self love, & self care. Clients must live in California as this is where I hold my license.
-
What is your style?
I like to show up as a human first. I want you to feel comfortable and safe. My approach is warm, inviting, goofy, compassionate, and understanding. I pull from several psychological approaches (CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Family Systems, Humanistic) and also allow for general processing talk therapy. I also like to incorporate holistic resources such as looking at nutrition, sleep, movement, and spirituality.
-
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are typically 1x/week and either 50 or 80 minutes. This will be discussed during a preliminary consultation call.
-
Do you take insurance?
No. My practice is self pay only. You may request a superbill from me to give to your insurance company to request and potentially obtain reimbursement.
-
Are you in person or virtual?
All sessions are virtual. Clients must reside in CA and must be physically located in CA at time of session.
-
What is your cancelation policy?
I ask for a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel. The full session fee will be charged if you cancel less than 24 hour and/or if you do not show up for your scheduled session.
-
When do you see clients?
My availability is flexible M-F. I do not see clients on the weekends and do not offer crisis or emergency services. If you are in a crisis and/or emergency please call 911, go to your nearest ER, or check out these resources.

How long does therapy take?
Therapy is not a one size fits all as each client has specific goals and needs to address. Therapy services could be weeks, months, or years. There is no specific timeframe on healing and therapy. I also cannot guarantee ‘fixing’ or ‘healing’ for you. Therapy takes time, dedication and work and you may feel worse before you feel better. During our initial consultation we will discuss therapeutic timeframes.
